NORAPC Internship

The New Orleans Regional AIDS Planning Council (NORAPC) is seeking graduate student interns to assist with planning council activities (i.e., administrative support, literature review, special projects). NORAPC is a HIV/AIDS service planning body working in collaboration with the Mayor’s Office of Health Policy (grantee for Federal Ryan White Part A funds). The agency’s mission is to ensure the provision of a high quality continuum of HIV treatment and care for People Living with HIV/AIDS in the New Orleans Eligible Metropolitan Area (Orleans, Jefferson, St. John the Baptist, St. Charles, St. James, St. Bernard, St. Tammany and Plaquemines parishes).

Health Information Technology Intern

As a part of LPHI’s Division of Information Services (IS) the HIT Clinical Intern will report to the Sr. Project Manager, Division of Information Services. With strategic guidance of
the Director, Division of Information Services, the Clinical Intern will collaborate with the HIT Specialist and Project Analyst for the Division of Information Services to implement a coordinated electronic medical record system in Greater New Orleans’ school-based health centers.

Evaluation Coordinator

As a member of the Evaluation Team, the Evaluation Coordinator will implement evaluation plans and mechanisms for components of one or more large LPHI programs. In certain instances, the Evaluation Coordinator may serve as the lead evaluator for smaller evaluation projects. The Evaluation Coordinator will also support evaluation capacity building among external community partners.

Louisiana Campaign for Tobacco-Free Living

As a staff member of The Louisiana Campaign for Tobacco-Free Living (TFL), TFL Regional Coordinators are responsible for the coordination and implementation of TFL programs and initiatives in their region, including policy change initiatives. TFL RegionalCoordinators communicate local developments and regional programs to the TFL Program Manager for Community Capacity and Mobilization, to fellow TFL Regional Coordinators and to TFL Program Coordinators through regularly scheduled meetings and reports.

Project Lazarus – Program Evaluation

Project Lazarus is offering an internship or practicum opportunity to assist in the development and implementation of monitoring and evaluation of existing programs. Project Lazarus provides services to people with AIDS who can no longer live independently, or whose family can no longer take care of them.

Program Manager – Behavioral Health Initiatives

Apprenticeships in Public Health

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is seeking individuals for participation in the Public Health Apprentice Program (PHAP), a three-year program providing frontline work experience and training in public health. Apprentices are involved in a wide variety of public health activities relating to disease control and prevention and health promotion. Apprenticeships involve a series of progressive assignments in local health departments beginning on or about July 20, 2009. Successful completion of the program will prepare Apprentices for future career opportunities in public health at national, state and local levels.

Louisiana Campaign for Tobacco-Free Living

The TFL Program Coordinator position is responsible for the assisting the Policy & Advocacy Program Manager in the development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of TFL Policy/Advocacy efforts at the municipal, parish and state levels, with a primary emphasis on municipal and parish activities. This comprehensive plan is to dovetail with that of the overarching TFL program as well as existing grassroots networks.
