2 capstone positions with the American Red Cross Hurricane Recovery Program

The American Red Cross Hurricane Recovery Program is currently seeking 2 individuals interested in a summer capstone. This is an unpaid internship working closely with Client Recovery Supervisors and Specialists. This is a wonderful opportunity to be actively involved in the recovery effort in Southeast Louisiana.

The American Red Cross continues to serve those affected by Hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Wilma through its Hurricane Recovery Program (HRP). The HRP is focused on areas where the need for help is the greatest:

  • Long-term recovery planning through case management;
  • Emotional support, mental health counseling and grief management; and
  • Vital information sharing and locating recovery resources.

Below you will find a scope of work for the positions but is not limited to only these tasks.

  • Office Administration
  • Case Screening and Intake
  • Case Review
  • Training collaborative organizations in the American Red Cross’ case management procedures
  • Attending Long Term Recovery Meetings and other collaborative meetings
  • Database management and report writing
  • Various basic case management duties
  • Assist in program administration by coordinating activities with other organizations, departments or services delivery staff.
